"Endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace" - Ephesians 4:3
Apostle Paul has always made an effort in preserving the unity of the Church. He always beseeched the brethren to remain in fellowship of the Church. And the true Church believers remained together.
As in prayer, the Church's unity is more than just meeting together in one place or having a harmonious relationship. This is spiritual unity. Being the body of Christ, each one is connected to each other. Thus, in every part where the Church was established, they have unity with other local Churches.
Fellowship is rooted in love, John the Beloved said,
"If God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us" - 1 John 4:11-12
Our love to each other is not dependent on physical attributes and material possessions. Rather, it is based on God's unwavering love to all of us. We look on our brethren through the eyes of God's love. In this manner, our fellowship is strong.
