Man’s salvation is a costly expense. God needed to give up His only begotten Son in order to die and save the world from its guilty verdict. Christ needed to be likened to the form of man and be born by a virgin through the Holy Ghost to his mother Mary in order to fulfill the prophecy spoken by the Lord.
This prophecy was made out of God’s great love for mankind. Christ, who is God’s joy day and night, was sent to the Earth to die at the cross as if it was His own sins he was suffering for: He did not consider He would lose his equality with God but instead made himself humble and gave up everything He had in heaven.
“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
- Philippians 2:6-8

This is how much God loves the world. He was able to give Christ to mankind. This is how much Christ wanted to obey the Lord. He took upon Him the form of a servant.Your salvation cost Him to die. This is how much Jesus was thinking about you, when He was there, on the cross.
