70 WEEKS

70
weeks
69 weeks have passed.
One week is still to come.
By: Bishop Art Ferriol,

The teaching of 70 weeks is found on Daniel 9:24-27.

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troubles times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but nor for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."

At the beginning of these Holy Scriptures that we have read, in verse 24, it is clear that this prophecy of the 70 weeks is only for the people of God. The people here are the Israelites and the city is Jerusalem. After the seventy weeks will come the millennium. To the Jews, this is not the millennium but the Kingdom age. And at this age six things will be done by God. After the seventy weeks, God will finish transgressions, make an end of sins, make reconciliation for iniquity, bring everlasting righteousness, seal up the vision and the prophecy, and anoint the Most Holy One. The one referred to here as the "Most Holy One" is Jesus Christ and He will sit in Jerusalem as King of kings and Lord of lords. Therefore, Jesus Christ seated on the throne in one thousand years is the fulfillment of God's promise to David.

"Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit up the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my love, as thou hast walked before me" (-11 Chronicles 6:16)

"He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end." (Luke 1:32-33)

and to the Church

"If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us." (11 Tim. 2:12)
"And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Rev. 5:10)
We call it: The Millennium. It came from the Latin Word Millennium which means; Mile-a thousand, Anum-year. If used as an adjective, it is the millennial reign of Christ.

In the 70 weeks, one day equals one year. A week means seven years. All in all 70 weeks is equal to 490 years. The counting of the 70 weeks began when the command was made by King Darius for Israelites, who were, at that time, captives of the kingdom of Babylon, to go back to their native land.

The Seventy Weeks have three parts: the first seven weeks, the 62 weeks, and the last one week. The age between the past 69 weeks and the remaining one week is called The Church Age. It is not considered as part of the 70 weeks. This is a different age, which is why it is placed in a parenthesis. The Church Age is inserted within the 70 weeks due to the unbelief of Israel. The 70 weeks will when the fullness of the Gentiles has come.

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in." (Romans 11:25)

On the 69th week, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was crucified. The counting of the 70 weeks stopped to give way to the Church age. When the Church Age closes, the 70 weeks will continue counting. You will understand why the the apostles asked Jesus Christ, after His resurrection, the question: "When they therefore were come together, they ask of him, saying Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:6). This question gives us an insight that the Apostles knew about the promise of the 70 weeks wherein the kingdom will be restored to Israel once the 70 weeks has been fulfilled. They knew that the 69th weeks is finished and there was only one week remaining.

The answer of the Lord is: And he said unto them: It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. (Acts 1:7)

It is important to know that the times or seasons is not for the early Apostles to know but will be known to whomsoever God will reveal it to. Hence the times and seasons of Christs return could be known but not the exact hour or day.

These times and seasons were revealed tot he Goodman of the House. This is the doctrine of the watches This is exclusively a doctrine revealed to the living Apostle in the End-Time. The doctrine of the division of times or the four watches was not taught until it was revealed during our time. Though there are Protestant books that teach the first three divisions, they did not call it watches nor did they know that our time today is called the 4th watch.

This is why the Apostle in the End-Time is the fulfillment of the prophecy of Christ in Matthew 24:43;

"But know this, that if the Goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up."

The Goodman of the House has three qualifications: he must first be an apostle; secondly, he must know the doctrine of the 4th watch and know the watches; and lastly, he must not only teach that every one of us must watch, but he is also the number one watcher. He is our example in watching.

In these three requirements of the Goodman of the House, all is fulfilled in our Apostle and Brother Arsenio Ferriol. This is why he is the Goodman of the House. He is being used by the Lord to present the Church blamelessly at His return. We are now at the 4th watch, which is the end time. The next question is: Where are we in the fourth watch? In 1 John 2:18. we are now at the last hour of the end-time. We have only one hour to work. We are on the 11th hour. After this one hour; the Rapture will come. The believers will be snatched away by the power of God. This will happen in just a twinkling of an eye or in the fraction of a second, then the saints will be in the presence of the Lord, and we will be with Him. This will be the end of the Church Age. After this, the last week or 70th week will start which is the Tribulation Period where in the Antichrist will reign for seven years.

It is therefore imperative that we continue to obey the teachings of the Goodman of the House that we watch so that we can be prepared and be able to escape the coming Great Tribulation.
